  • Abstract
    Pump-induced line broadening has been used to investigate the thermal loading of laser-diode-pumped Nd3+:Y3Al5O12 laser ceramics with different Nd3+ -ion concentrations. This new method here proposed allow us to obtain, in an easy and direct way, the concentration dependence of the luminescence quantum efficiency of Nd3+-ions in Y3Al5O12 ceramics. The experimentally obtained concentration-induced quantum efficiency quenching has been found to be in a very good accordance with theoretical models.
