  • Abstract
"Cloud computing: Automating the virtualized data center" is divided into three parts. The first one contains five chapters and provides a general overview of cloud computing systems. The second one, consisting four chapters, is dedicated to service management. Part III deals in its five chapters with resource management. Two appendices conclude the book (a case study and a glossary). It is edited well and the presentation quality is high. The chapters are compact and provide a good variety of information. As the book contains a lot of specific information which may outdate quickly. It is recommended to engineers or designers who need to get a lot of practical information about clouds in a short period of time. The second book, "Compressed sensing: Theory and applications" provides a comprehensive survey of the subject in a journey across twelve diverse chapters written by leading experts from all over the world. Besides giving a detailed and comprehensive introduction to the basics, it highlights theoretical advances and representative range of applications. Numerous current research challenges are indicated, while some of them are compactly explained and convincingly predicted. Application descriptions are deeply embedded in theoretical grounds, with numerous references to the extension that meets the practical limitations. The authors cogently explain the reasons for the explosive research in CS. Many advantages of the concepts, including reliable theoretical foundations of verified solutions and strengths are convincingly shown.
