Abstract :
A new algorithm is proposed for estimating the signal-to-interference plus noise ratio S/(I+N) in time-division multiple-access (TDMA) cellular systems. The S/(I+N) estimator is evaluated for use in the IS-54/136 system and a GSM-like system, and compared with existing techniques. The algorithm has a mean square prediction error that is comparable to the best known S/(I+N) estimation schemes, but with a significantly reduced computational complexity
