Abstract :
Time is flying fast, and 2011 is coming to an end. This year marked an important milestone for the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES): its 60th anniversary! To celebrate this occasion, a special issue of IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine was published (vol. 5, no. 3, 2011). This important anniversary was recognized during the 20th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE 2011) in Gdansk, Poland, and the 37th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IECON 2011) in Melbourne, Australia. This year, 17 excellent articles written by top scientists were published in IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine, helping to improve its impact factor to 1.844.
