Abstract
Climate change controversies have raised the profile of sustainability discussions. Increased attention has yielded greater understanding of climate change as a global environmental problem, one that requires global cooperation and greater scientific consensus in order to reduce carbon emissions and consequently our energy footprint. Sustainability cannot be addressed separately from technology. Technological change compliments societal change and vice versa.
