This month we look at the work of 12 students from the Royal College of Art who were set a challenge of designing and manufacturing a seat from American hardwood. PRODUCT DESIGN students at the Royal College of Art in London have worked in collaboration with the American Hardwood Export Council to produce chairs in an American hardwood of their choice. The designs have been developed in to working prototypes with the help of Benchmark, internationally renowned for its craftsmanship in wood and its longstanding relationship with designer Terence Conran.
