Abstract :
This paper presents a new power control algorithm for wireless networks. The proposed algorithm achieves the maximum uniform signal-to-interference-ratio (SIR), i.e., the maximum value of the SIR when the SIRs of all links are the same. The existing algorithms in the literature require a central unit to perform a state-machine process tracing different scenarios and commanding different target SIR values to the links. However, the proposed algorithm is autonomous in the sense that it does not require the central unit to perform any state-machine process. Moreover, compared to other schemes it requires less information to be broadcast from the links.
