Abstract :
An instrument is described which enables absolute measurements of microwave power to be made in the 8mm waveband. The measurements are absolute, in the sense that the calibration of the instrument depends only on measurements of mass, length and time. Microwave power levels of a milliwatt and less have been measured by this method, and the accuracy of the instrument is of the order of a few per cent.
