Concept of terminal admittance and impedance matrixes extended to continuous media

The concept of terminal impedance and admittance matrixes can be generalised to cover continuous media. The matrixes take the form of kernels of singular integral equations. Some properties and applications are considered, one of which establishes a rigorous connection between continuum and resistance-network calculations.
