Abstract :
The sidelobe level of a uniformly excited array can be lowered significantly by reducing the amplitudes of a minority of its elements. The authors describe a genetic algorithm method for determining which amplitudes to reduce and by how much, and illustrate the method by applying it to a 100-element linear array
