Abstract :
Evaluating the phase noise of a data stream may be accomplished with the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) of the signal, if the resolution is high enough, or captured using a mixer and local oscillator. To eliminate these requirements, we present a method for capturing phase noise amplitude from arbitrary bit stream data using a Time to Digital Converter.
