  • Abstract
    This letter considers the multiuser amplify-and-forward relay network, which includes the source-to-destination links. We derive an approximate expression in closed-form for the exact outage probability in Rayleigh fading channels. In the high signal-to-noise ratio regime, we derive a simple expression to approximate the asymptotic outage probability and analyze the diversity performance. The analysis suggests that a multiuser diversity order of K and a cooperative diversity order of 1, i.e., a total diversity order of K+1, can be simultaneously achieved, where K is the number of source users. Finally, we use numerical simulations to verify the tightness of our analytical results.
