Abstract
In the paper, the Mitrovic method for analysis and synthesis of control systems is applied to the linearised equations of a synchronous machine, tieline and voltage regulator. It is shown that much useful information about the steady-state behaviour of the system may be obtained in this way with the minimum of computation. The method is also ideally suited to the optimisation of the parameters of the regulator for better steady-state stability limits.
