Abstract
This work examines the penetration loss suffered through periodic wall structures currently used by the building industry. A full-wave method, the modal transmission-line (MTL), is used to investigate the radio-propagation behavior through a periodic building structure under the most general condition of oblique incidence (three-dimensional incidence). Widely used periodic building structures are investigated through simulation results. Simulation findings are compared with measurements. The resonant variations of penetration loss as functions of material thickness and frequency are reported.
