Abstract :
A graph-theoretic approach to the design of optimum communication networks is given. The solution obtained satisfies the minimum cost weight, and is feasible and reliable. The paper also presents a new method of selecting the most reliable data-processing centre among the terminals. The efficient and simple generation of path matrices in a tree network is given. A design example is also presented.
