Abstract :
The relation between the application of additives and the charge density is studied. It is found that the peak values for the critical micelle concentration (CMC) and charge density coincided. Moreover, before CMC was reached, charge density increased linearly with the quantity of additive used. Since the additives used were ionic compounds, it is assumed that the electric charge was determined by the number of ions present in the liquid and the number adsorbed at the Stern interface. Thus, the number of adsorbed ions is investigated.
