e-Book use by Malaysian primary school children

Implementation of a new technology such as e-Book in primary schools in one of the state in Malaysia gives new experience and challenges in Malaysian education field. The study aims to determine the students´ skills of using e-books, to identify their levels of understanding of e-book use and their purpose of using e-Books. The data was gathered using questionnaire from the primary school students. The findings indicated that the students have fair basic skills of using e-Books, good understanding of e-Books functions and mainly use the eBooks for reading electronic text books and finding materials on the internet although the overall frequency of e-Books usage are generally quite low. The findings could lead to the development of guidelines for the stakeholders in improving technology use such as e-Books in school context.
