Abstract :
The Y3(Fe0.96Ti0.04)29 compound has a monoclinic Nd3(Fe,Ti)29-type (P21/c) structure, and an easy-cone type anisotropy. The Curie temperature TC of the monoclinic 3:29-type Y3(Fe 0.96Ti0.04)29 is about 403 K, which is slightly higher than that of the 2:17-type Y2Fe17 (325 K) and lower than that of the 1:12-type YFe11Ti (524 K). The average iron magnetization of the Y3(Fe0.96Ti 0.04)29 is 1.87 μB at 4.2 K. This value is higher than the corresponding value of 1.7 μB for the 1:12-type one, and lower than the value of 2.01 μB for the Y2Fe17 one. These results confirm the fact that 3:29-type structure is the intermediate between the 2:17-type and 1:12-type ones
