Abstract
This study presents a novel two inputs and five outputs universal current-mode biquadratic filter. The structure employs three inverting second-generation current conveyors (ICCIIs), three grounded resistors and two grounded capacitors, which can realize lowpass, bandpass, highpass, bandreject, and allpass filtering responses from the same topology. The proposed circuit maintains the following advantages: (i) the employment two grounded capacitors ideal for integrated circuit implementation, (ii) the employment three grounded resistors suitable for the variations of filter parameters, (iii) high-output impedances good for cascadability for the current-mode circuits, (iv) no need to impose component choice, (v) no need to employ inverting-type current input signals, (vi) orthogonal control of the resonance angular frequency and the quality factor, and (viii) low active and passive sensitivity performances. HSPICE simulations with TSMC 0.18 um CMOS technology and ± 0.9V supply voltages to verify the theoretical results.
