Abstract
This paper presents the characteristics of the POBSP-2D simulator, developed to help teaching the concepts involved in indoor electromagnetic propagation. This simulator uses the Physical Theory of Diffraction for electromagnetic processing, and “binary space partitioning” trees for the geometrical calculations, evaluating the different contributions to propagation in independent computations. This allows students to get results very quickly, and to visualize the effects of each electromagnetic contribution (the direct, diffracted, reflected, or transmitted contribution) on the total field.
