Abstract :
Pseudo-Random or pseudo-noise and Orthogonal Spreading sequences are widely used in the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) systems using Rake receiver. This paper shows the practical aspect for direct sequences DSCDMA and also the orthogonal codes are discussed. This paper compares the execution results of the direct sequence spread spectrum-baseband QPSK modulation with various types of short codes: Barker, Hadamard, Kasami, by measuring the BER (Pe) by using autocorrelation and cross correlation functions. The simulation results shows the system using Barker code is the best system with probability of error (Pe) for Barker code is 4.9 ×10 -4 at 10 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)after comparing with other codes.
