Abstract :
The paper describes a coordinated approach to short-term hydroelectric power generation scheduling and dispatch that has been developed as a part of the Tasmanian Hydro Electric Commission´s new energy management system, which is being delivered by Landis and Gyr Energy Management. Tasmania´s hydroelectric power generation system consists of 40 reservoirs in six river catchments. The daily water release for each plant is scheduled using the HEC´s mid-term operation policy
