Abstract
Mobile ad hoc network consist of nodes that move arbitrarily, then it leads to dynamic topologies. The distributed nature of networks and their link stability poses critical challenges in the design of routing protocols for them. The life time of individual nodes in MANET is dependent on their battery power. Network coding aware routing reduces energy consumption in wireless networks. In this paper we propose a network coding aware routing scheme for effective utilization of existing energy along the path. Our approach finds an energy efficient and stable path by considering factors like weak nodes, pause time of a node and the total battery status of individual nodes along the path from source to destination. It can balance individual node´s battery power utilization and hence prolong the entire network´s life time. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing power aware routing algorithms.
