Abstract
A wireless network generally consists of a base station which communicates with other nodes present in the network. The other nodes are used for Measuring and collecting various environmental and Intelligence related data. The network that we have considered is connected with the central node i.e hub being the base station and the other nodes are used for calculation of load distributed by the central node. The main thing behind this is load balancing is to reduce the execution time of the load and to make sure that all the resources present in the system are utilized optimally. The IEEE 802.11 standard does not provide any mechanism to resolve load imbalance in the network. To reduce this deficiency, various load balancing techniques have been designed[5].Load balancing provides a cost-effective, efficient and transparent method to expand the bandwidth of network devices and servers, increase the throughput, and enhance the data process capability, thus increasing the flexibility and availability of networks.There are different techniques based on persistent algorithm for load balancing in Wireless LAN. The goal of the proposed work is to use Persistence weighted round robin algorithm for load balancing in wireless LAN. This algorithm is able to distribute mobile stations among all APs and the signal strengths between stations and access points are also being maximized at the same time. This technique will be useful to reduce the congetion in the network, maintain the load in balance condition on network, as well as improve the bandwidth utilization.
