Abstract :
Low-density TiO2/poly (methyl methacrylate) composite particles were prepared by aqueous solution polymerisation in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone. The obtained composite particles were characterised by Fourier transform infrared spectra, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and differential thermal analysis-thermo gravimetric analysis. Results show that the composite particles with an average grain size of 189-nm and an estimated density of 1.55-g/cm3 are successfully prepared.
