  • Abstract
Though he´s most recently known for his invention of the Segway Human Transporter device, Dean Kamen has a long history of working on really big challenges—everything from improving quality of life with portable medical devices to changing the culture of an entire nation with a robotics competition. The individual projects vary widely in focus, but the goal is always the same: “Find a serious problem and use technology to address it.”
