Abstract
A recently proposed cognitive radio model that exploits primary retransmissions is modified, such that the secondary pair uses multiple antennas. By doing so the co-existence penalty can be practically eliminated, while achieving the same useful secondary throughput as before. The method does not require any non-causal knowledge or full channel state information at any transmitter.
