Abstract :
This paper presents several challenges to be overcome to implement magnetic recording and reading in Advanced Photo System cameras. Advanced Photo System cameras record information on the magnetic layer of the film. The information is recorded in either one or two tracks at the edge of the film for subsequent reading by photofinishing equipment. Some high-end cameras also have a mid-roll change feature in which the camera automatically finds the next unexposed frame by detecting the recorded information on the reloaded film
