Abstract :
To protect against accidents and their consequences, companies may take one of several courses of action. They can choose to do nothing, and live with an ´acceptable risk´, or they may invest heavily in training, technology, preventive maintenance and damage limitation exercises. There are several courses of action in between these two, but at what point does a precaution become one too many?.
