Abstract
The facilities at the IEE´s London headquarters are often hired by other Institutions and Societies for conferences and events. In many if not all cases electrical science and technology contributes significantly to the advancement and practice of their respective professions both at home and abroad. One regular user is the Royal College of Anaesthetists. The organisation and aims of the medical profession, plus a few of its problems, have some commonality with those of the engineers. The author discusses the common factors between the medical and electrical engineering professions.
