  • Abstract
Scratch is an excellent choice for schools. It can be used as a first language, and even as the main programming language. At the same time, Scratch is a magnificent environment for modeling and creative work [6-8, 12]. Despite its apparent simplicity and “toy-like” features, Scratch is based on the most advanced concepts of programming and prepares young programmers to use new technologies in the future.
