IES´s 60th Anniversary [Editor´s Column]

In the beginning of this issue I would like to congratulate all IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) award recipients and new IEEE Fellows. We are happy to present the biographies of these colleagues in our “Society News” column. This column even welcomes the new IES officers and Administrative Committee (AdCom) members. Moreover, the current issue of IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine presents the development of electrical cars in the “Historical” column and very hot technical subjects, e.g., field-programmable gate array (FPGA) controllers, batteries, high-power electronics, industrial communication, and matrix converters in regular articles.
