Abstract :
In a previous Editorial, the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) alluded to changes to IEEE Photonics Technology Letters (PTL) which would be introduced to better serve the photonics community [ibid., vol. 24, no. 5, p. 331, Mar. 1, 2012]. Now that the revised review process is starting to have the desired effect, he is pleased to announce the next development, namely that PTL will increase the page limit for manuscripts from three to four pages. This matter was first discussed at last year´s meeting of the PTL Editors held during OFC 2011, which was moved to implementation at this year´s meeting held in March. IEEE policy and PTL policy are outlined.
