Abstract
A comparison of vowel triangles is introduced to demonstrate speaker individuality. Triangle areas representing position of Czech vowel triads were calculated in ten formant planes for individual speakers and then compared with areas of reference triangles given by representative formant frequencies. Estimated differences were averaged across all speakers and evaluated. Further, the suitability of current area differences was verified by statistical pointer called coefficient of variation. The highest area differences have been achieved by EOU and EIO triangles in F1-F3 plane. Nevertheless, the best results for speaker recognition have been achieved by using the AIU and AEO triangle, both in the F1-F5 plane. The best formant plane for speaker recognition has been evaluated F1-F5 in total as well as the EIO triangle in relevant criterion. In experiments, Czech speech uttered by 13 male speakers was used.
