Abstract :
This paper discusses the history of IEEE since the formation of American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) in 1884 to the formation of Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE). There are always new frontiers opening up to be explored, and IEEE, with a wealth of resources in its volunteers and staff and its international membership, will be there to promote technology and support its advancement.
