Abstract
A small conducting disk is added to a spiral backed a plane reflector to extend the frequency range over which the spiral radiates a circularly polarised wave (CPW). The numerical analysis based on the moment method reveals that the frequency range for CPW radiation is extended to 1:1.42 (34.7%) with the small disk, from 1:1.18 (16.5%) without the small disk
