  • Abstract
    This issue of IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine explores new developments in mobile radio and land transportation. The article “Light-Rail Transit Systems” describes a new light-rail system, which began revenue service in Arizona linking the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. The light-rail vehicle is the most visible aspect of the system and contains innovative features unique in the United States and international light-rail vehicle design.
