Abstract
In this paper, a novel stator core structure is proposed to reduce cogging torque due to production tolerances of PM motor. Theoretical analysis of cogging torque due to production tolerances of rotor is implemented. We propose a stator core structure of placing dummy slots partially in axial direction. The effectiveness of the proposed stator core structure is demonstrated by 2D, 3D FEM analysis and measurement results of 12slot-10pole PM motor.
