Abstract
Many engineers and scientists condemn the inaccuracy of media coverage of science and technology but have never really pinned down what they mean by “inaccuracy.” This article examines research that assesses the accuracy of mass media science reporting. The author also gleans from the research ways in which engineers and scientists can improve the chance of getting their information accurately into the media through interviews with journalists.
