Abstract :
Customers judge the electricity supply industry solely by the end product they receive. The author looks at the present performance of the distribution system and whether this is satisfactory to customers. In order for improvements to be made a great deal of money must be spent on transformers, cables and switchgear. The author describes system automation which is the only way to improve performance
