Abstract :
The author looks at how electricity tariffs in the UK are arrived at in practice. Costs of electricity production are used to arrive at bulk supply tariffs and area board tariffs. Marginal-cost messages in electricity tariffs for consumers are looked at as a means of improving cost effectiveness of energy consumption
