Abstract :
The OS/2 operating system, soon to be distributed by IBM, will provide multitasking: the ability to run more than one program at the same time. The Intel 80286 and 80386 processors used in IBM PCATs and compatibles (as well as PS/2 Model 50s and upward) provide hardware assists for the quick context-switching required.
