Twelve prestigious awards are announced: Winners of the IEEE´s specialist awards cover the fields of precision measurements, power transmission and distribution, electromagnetics, and supercomputer compilers

Among the high honors bestowed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers are the Field Awards, which are given in recognition of unusual accomplishment in particular fields of interest to the Institute. This year, the IEEE Board of Directors, acting on the recommendation of the Awards Board, has bestowed 12 of the 13 awards.
