Abstract :
The goal of compiling source code is to make it execute faster, rather than having to interpret it on the fly. The resulting object code is generally run as an application program. But what about compiling formulas and equations created by an application? This is done by a program called Liberty (pronounced “at liberty”), which compiles programs for Lotus 1–2–3 and other spreadsheet packages.
