Abstract
Auto-expansion type gas circuit breaker has a feature that operating energy can be reduced. However, the optimum design is very difficult, because this type of breaker has the gas chambers, one of which generates high gas pressure by using the heat of the arc and the other chamber generates high pressure by mechanical compression. Therefore, before designing this type of breaker, it is desirable to know what factors influence the gas blast characteristics. In this paper, we describe the influences of various factors on the gas blast characteristics using our own pressure calculation program.
