Abstract :
A dynamically gain-flattened erbium doped fibre amplifier (EDFA) is demonstrated by inserting a periodically bent dispersion shifted fibre. The gain variation within the 10 nm range is <1 dB for a 14 dB gain compression. The bending method is simple, cheap, stable, and easily adjustable
