Abstract :
Further discussion and analysis of a lumped-capacitance, parallel-plate, coaxial sensor for measurements of the permittivity and conductivity of materials in the radio and microwave frequency ranges are presented. The parameters of the equivalent circuit were determined using the method of moments and were found to be different (particularly for fringing field capacitance) from those obtained from the simplified theory used so far. New results contribute to the improved accuracy of the dielectric measurements.
