  • Abstract
Argentina´s original settlement was spurred by the spread of rural agricultural production. Two centuries later, we may ask: What remains of this cultural legacy and how has it shaped modern Argentina? This question is the central theme of the following brief historical review of a country of almost 3 million square kilometers, much of which is devoted to agriculture.
