Michael Oatts enjoys day to day, short term activity more than long term planning activities. While working in the summer for his fellowship, he did long term planning for the American Electric Power Company, and said he found it much more rewarding to work on daily projects that are not just hypothetical ideas that may or may not be of use 10 years down the road. He comments “sometimes you would put a lot of work and energy into long term project and get really excited about it, only to find out that minds have changed.”
