Abstract :
A multifunctional decoder based on the decoding algorithm of linear majority-logic-decodable (MLD) codes over GF(q) used for both error correction and detection is presented. A scheme of L-step majority-logic decoding using this algorithm is also proposed. Employing this kind of decoder can make some error control schemes used in communication and storage systems more efficient.
